Innovative and impactful entrepreneurship in Alicante
We start 2020 fulfilling dreams… the launch of Genion Lab means leading the first private initiative in our country for prototyping around entrepreneurship, creating transformative communities and approaching public and private institutions.
GENION LAB is our own inspiring workspace dedicated to innovation, impact and local development. The meeting point for all entrepreneurs, innovative companies and organisations that want to grow together.
Located in a strategic enclave next to the Madrid-Alicante motorway, in the municipality of Petrer, we have wonderful facilities: 800m2 distributed over two floors for the 40 or so professionals and companies that have made this space their best place to work.
The LAB incorporates – in addition to two floors of shared workspaces and offices – a Technical Office for European Projects and Private Investment, a Social Economy and Cooperatives Consultancy, a Genion Academy for Training in Agile Tools and Entrepreneurship Launch Pads and a Genion Consultancy and Mentoring Point to promote projects and implement innovation in Companies and Administrations.
We face 2020 with a new and expanded horizon of collaborations, alliances and synergies. Our vocation to connect and weave networks is constant: universities, public administrations, corporations, financial institutions, business associations, business schools, business angels, media… are already part of Genion’s trajectory.
GENION walks hand in hand with relevant partners such as: University of Alicante, CEEI Elche, Distrito Digital CV, Alicante Open Future, Cadena SER, Caixapetrer, Adlypse, Pacto Territorial por el Empleo del Valle del Vinalopó, Ayuntamiento de Alicante, Ayuntamiento de Petrer, Ayuntamiento de Elda, Ayuntamiento de Mutxamel, Ayto de Villena, Jovempa, Fundación Emplea, Inovare, Alicantec, Fevecta, Coworking Ambassadors, Coworking Spain and Proworkspaces.
Entrepreneurial communities with impact
Genion was born in 2017. Our mission? To create and connect communities of talent that develop territories.
The work of our team is oriented towards the detection of talent through agile training, in the first phases. The creation of innovative communities geolocated in inspiring work spaces [coworking, hubs, labs…], in a second phase; and maximising the impact of these entrepreneurs and companies on the territory where they will grow. It is in this third phase where the Lab will play a decisive role thanks, fundamentally, to the promotion of mentoring as well as the search for [public and private] impact investment for all the projects and companies belonging to this entrepreneurial ecosystem.
In 2013 the founding team of Genion, led by Diego Tomás, opened its first collaborative space: PBC Coworking. Today, our house has become the oldest active coworking space in the Valencian Community and the workplace of an entrepreneurial community made up of 40 professionals and companies.
The communities of PBC, Hubitat (public space managed by Genion in the town of Mutxamel in Alicante), El Teixidor (public coworking model of social return implemented by Genion in the municipality of Petrer) and those belonging to the launchers: PetrerEmprende, ImpulsaCultura Proyecta and Elda Innova are already part of the Genion network of transforming communities that currently integrates more than 300 people committed to the most innovative entrepreneurship.
